We love having nüm available to  all of our pediatric patients as an option for pain management. It is a friendly device that kids love. It gives them a sense of control over their procedure and makes the fear of the poke better.

I have always had a phobia with any injection...I'm having to get injections and IVs quite frequently and that will continue on a regular basis for the rest of my life. To make matters worse, I'm older now & my flesh is not firm anymore and my veins roll around, so the technician has a very hard time with IVs especially.  A technician finally pulled out a bottle of nüm. They sprayed it on my skin, and inserted the IV. It was like a miracle. I hardly felt it. It gave me so much relief and greatly eased my anxiety about getting stuck.

I had a young patient who experienced extreme anxiety before needle procedures. Even with deep breathing exercises and her mother by her side, she was breathing rapidly and visibly distressed. I decided to try nüm and explained that she would feel a cooling sensation. After the procedure, she looked surprised and said, ‘that was it?’ At her next visit, she was far more relaxed. Her mother told me the difference was like night and day and expressed how grateful she was for the care her child received.
